Working closely with our client, Nicholas James Group, we undertook a preliminary review to assess the development potential of a large former school site in Upper Froyle, Hampshire. Our role was to assess the opportunities and constraints of the site and create a masterplan and illustrative site layout plan which could be used to assess the feasibility of the project. Our masterplanning work was then used to engage with East Hampshire District Council and assess it’s planning and design potential.
The site had a number of issues to consider including the Listed Buildings, Conservation Area, Landscape and Planning Policy designations.
A subsequent planning application was prepared by Western Design Architects and approval was granted for a mixed use development including a wedding venue, residential development and a shop in early 2013.
