Garden village proposals submitted to DCLG

by colin

A proposal for a new garden village in Hampshire has been developed by Richards Urban Design and submitted to the DCLG.

The scheme has been developed in response to the Governments recent document “Locally-Led Garden Villages, Towns and Cities 2 (March 2016) and comprises a new freestanding settlement with 1500 new homes with, employment, leisure, recreation and commercial uses.

The masterplan concept showed how the land uses could work together to provide a comprehensive approach to the site which embraced the principles of sustainability and urban design. An illustrative masterplan and supporting promotional document were prepared to support a submission by the Local Planning Authority who were jointly promoting the opportunity.
