Consultation on new housing in Riseley

by colin

Proposals for a new housing development on the edge of the village of Riseley, Berkshire have been shared with the community in a leaflet which was circulated to over 200 homes in the local area.

The leaflet contained a draft illustrative masterplan which has been prepared to explore how the site could provide approximately 80 new homes, public open space and young children’s play areas. It is envisaged that the development will comprise a mix of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes to meet a wide range of housing needs in the community including provision of affordable homes. The new accommodation will be of a high quality design, which complements and reflects the existing character of Riseley and the wider area.

The access to the site would be provided from Odiham Road with retention of the existing public footpath. The site is in a sustainable location, and good pedestrian and cycle links will be provided to connect to existing services and facilities in Riseley. Opportunities to enhance local facilities will also be provided as part of the proposals, either within the site or via financial contributions, and will benefit the wider community.

Gleesons area currently assessing the feedback and considering submitting an outline planning application for the site.
