Appeal allowed in Calne

by colin

The appeal has been allowed and planning permission has been granted for a development comprising a specialist dementia care facility and a residential development of up to 125 units, which would include about 37 affordable housing units, on land at Marden Farm off Stockley Lane, Calne. Working with Gleeson Developments, RUD had prepared the hybrid planning application in 2012 which was refused for reasons of housing land supply, prematurity and Section 106 matters.

In considering the appeal, the Inspector found that, “Relevant development plan policy is out-of-date and the composite scheme is sustainable development. In the light of paragraph 14 of the NPPF there is no reason therefore to withhold planning permission for the proposed development.”
